ТЕМА: "Man and Nature. Environmental problems and their solutions" Урок узагальнення та систематизації вивченого матеріалу.

МЕТА:

практична: закріпити та вдосконалити вживання вивченого лексичного та граматичного матеріалу до теми; практикувати учнів в обговоренні проблемних питань; вдосконалити навички аудіювання читання, перекладу, та говоріння; вдосконалювати вимову учнів.

освітня: розширювати світогляд учнів;

розвивальна: розвивати комунікативну компетенцію, мовленнєві здібності та швидку реакцію, логічне мислення, пам'ять, увагу та здогадку учнів;

виховна: виховувати культуру спілкування; формувати в учнів любов та повагу до природи і навколишнього середовища; виховувати почуття відповідальності за діяльність людства;

ТИП УРОКУ: повторювально-узагальнювальний.

ОБЛАДНЕННЯ: зошит, компютер, екран, проектор, роздаткові картки з завданнями.

ХІД УРОКУ

I.Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

1.Повідомлення теми та мети уроку.

T.: -Good morning, children! Sit down, please.

T.: - Today we are going to dwell on the most vital environmental problems and solutions to them. We`ll learn more about the relationships between Man and Nature. It`s our last lesson before the test, so we`ll revise the material we have learned on this topic. We`ll do some vocabulary and grammar work, read a little bit, watch a video, we`ll talk a lot and as a result, we`ll get ready for the future test.

2.Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу.

T.: - I`d like to start our lesson with a quotation. But I need your help. Have a look at the board. (slide 2).

- Here you can see this quotation. Please, separate the words and read it. Take a second. (сhildren read the quotation).

"Our planet is the art of God and we have to take care of it."

T.: - Thank you (Slide 3). These are the words of Prince Philip of Britain. I have chosen this quotation for the motto of our lesson because it`s quite simple and clear.

- How do you understand it? Why do we need to take care of our Planet? What`s wrong with it?

P1.: - There are many forms of pollutions...

T.: - I hope you`ll agree with me that everybody wants to live in a safe and beautiful world. Many years ago we were given the world that was unique, wonderful, rich in everything. We were given so much. What made and is still making our world so beautiful?
P1: - Blue oceans, rivers,
P2: - Animals, nature,

P3: - Trees, flowers...

T.:- Why am I saying that "our Planet is unique "? Can you explain?
P.: - There are many planets in the Universe and only our Planet Earth is good enough for living.

P.: - We can`t be burnt, we can`t be frozen. We are just in a perfect position to the sun.

II.Основна частина уроку.

1.Активізація лексичних одиниць.

T.: - Today our Planet has many different problems. Can you please, name them?

P.: - Different forms of pollution, global warming, climate change, forest fires, exhaust fumes, acid rain floods, droughts, hurricanes...

T.: - Good.Thank you. And now have a look at our board (Slide 4). Here you can see these "ecological words". Let`s divide them into two groups. The first team has to write out natural disasters. The team number two will write out disasters caused by people. Take a minute. (children write out the words)

T.: - Are you ready? Let`s read (children read their ideas).

2.Словотворення.

T.: - Ok, and now let`s play "Wordbuilding". Ready? We`ll start with a verb (children build verbs, nouns, participles):

to pollute - pollution - polluted - a polluter
to destroy - destroyed - destruction - a destroyer

to create - creation - created - a creator

T.: - Thank you and to summarize our vocabulary work I would like you to do one more task. And here it is. (Slide 6) You have to find the odd word (children read their ideas).

3.Практика аудіювання (Відео 1). Робота з відео, текст до якого діти частково опрацювали раніше.

a) pre-listening activities:

T.: -Last time we read some sentences about Man & Nature and today we`ll watch a video to this text. Be very attentive because I`ll ask you some questions to check if everything is clear. So, ready? Let`s watch! (children watch the video)

b) post-listening activities:

T.: - Did you understand everything? Were there any new words? Good. There were 3 numbers in this video. (slide 7). Can you explain them?

- How old is our Planet?

- How old is Mankind? (What is Mankind?) ...

c) work with the text (reading, translating, discussing):

T.: - And here I have some sentences from this film. I hope you were very attentive listening to the man because your next task is to put these sentences in the right order as it was in the film, of course. So, take your time and get ready! (children put sentences in the right order, translating them and creating negative form and questions).

d) grammar work with the text:

Sentences from the text (reading and translating ):
· If we condense the Earth`s lifespan into 24 hours, then we have been on this planet for three seconds.
· People build clever machines that navigate the Universe in search of new homes, but at the same time, they destroy their Planet (their home).
· We cover our ears to mother nature`s screams and close our eyes to all her "Help" signs.
· In some years every beloved animal character in children`s book will become extinct.

· Species that have been here longer than us will disappear because of us in three seconds.

4. Практика усного мовлення.

T.: - Let`s come back to our film. The man in this video was talking about the result of our actions. What happens to all of us because of pollution and other bad things...

P1.: - We have different diseases: cancer, heart and lung problems...

P2.: - Many people and animals die because of pollutions.

P3.: - The beauty of our world is destroying.

5. Практика письма та усного мовлення (робота в групах).

T.: - As you see the relationship between Man and Nature have always been complicated. Because Man can be a Creator and a Destroyer at the same time. And of course, it`s very important to find the balance. Let`s try to find it together! We`ll work in two groups again. The first group will write down the things the Creator should do and the second group is going to write things the Destroyer shouldn't do.

(Creator should - recycle/reuse/reduce things... )

(Destroyer shouldn't - throw garbage in public places, kill animals... )

T.: - Read and explain your posters!
